The „Gmuender Gesprächsmodell“ is a communication training specially developed for teachers and teacher students in parent-teacher-conferences. The duration of the training is about 45h and the aim is to improve the teachers` communication skills in parent-teacher-conferences. The training is based on approaches of person-centred counselling, systemic points of view and parts of transactional analysis. The different approaches are combined and adapted to the setting of parent-teacher-conferences. In this lecturer the training concept and its different units will be presented. Furthermore the experiences of the participants with the training concept will be shown. Those results provide an insight into the expectations of the participants on the training, their own estimation of their personal development and also the strengths and weak points of the trainings concept.

Method

The measurement was made by Goal Attainment Scales (GAS). T1 was given to the attendants before the training and they had to write down which goals they want to achieve by doing the training. Three weeks after the training the second Goal Attainment Scales was hand out to the participants of the training. In this second sheet they had to fill out, if they have achieved their goals or not and to what percentage they think they have reached their own aims.

Expected Outcomes

The evaluation shows the benefits and the lack of the training concept in the eyes of the participants.
