In the Laurea University of Applied sciences, the pedagogical framework is called Learning by Development (LbD), which is based on authenticity, partnership, experimental learning, research and creativity. The focus has been shifted from teaching to learning and the students are placed in the core. (Pedagogic Strategy 2007) The purpose of this paper is to describe, interpret and understand how the creative methods promote vocational education development in substance within conceptual learning and in the abilities of interaction- and cooperative skills. The theoretical framework of the nursing substance for this study is the operational, dynamic model named: Closeness and the Distance between patient and nurse in primary nursing (Kupari 2000). The orientation of the theory is social-psychological. Main Theorists are Rogers ( 1978 ), Rauhala( 1999), and Carper ( 1978 ). This theory gives the structures and in-depth understanding concepts for student's cognitive reflections ( Lent, Brown and Hackett 1994, Ruohotie 2006 ). The pedagogical framework raises from the Curriculum of Nursing Education ( 2007), Learning by developing, collaborative learning process, self-directed learning. (Pedagogical Strategy 2007, Raij 2007.). Creative methods (Gardy 1996, Hakala 2003, Anttila 2005, Häkämies 2007) within the didactic frames of vocational education have included: hospital documentaries, photos within the hospital’s authentic environment, fictional literature as well as magazine and painted pictures to name a few

Method

Grading material collected during the autumn of 2008 was in the form of qualitative written reports (=5 ) as well as observations of the presentations of the 20 nursing students ( = 4students / group) Analysis method is theory based, interpretative content analysis.

Expected Outcomes

We are going to describe how the students had expressed, found, understood and connected in their reports and presentations concepts of a chosen theory in their creative reflective learning processes. Finally, objective of the collaborative process is to produce abilities to interact, reflect and share the professional theoretical substance as well as to give to students’ experiences to develop the content of the one theory applying it in creative collaborative context. The objective is to raise the sensitivity in interaction of nursing by creative methods.
