Paper Session
Contribution
How teachers organize classroom is very important for students’ success (Cookson, 2006). Where the place computer, chair, table, and learning aids influence the perception of students and give messages about the importance of learning and their roles as students (McNally et.al.,, 2005). The investigated undesired student's behaviors can be defined under 2 headings: behaviors related to learning positions and behaviors related to management of student's behaviors. Classification of the undesired behaviors does not mean a complete separation between the two types of behaviors; therefore, the behaviors related to learning situations are affected by the behaviors related to students behaviors and vise versa. Some undisered classroom behaviors are side talking, interrupting teachers, non interest of the teaching subject, using mobile phones and incomplete assignemnets. The suggestions to limit undesired students behaviors are good preparation to session, showing the students friendship and respect, diversity in methods, corsuting, the effective and real examples in life, nondiscrimination between the students in treatment giving regulations and classroom rules to the students, involving the students in the classroom activities, giving the students the opportunity to express their openions, involving the students in decision making not leaving gaps during the session, considering the individual differences between the students (Ladd, 2000) .
The aim of the study is to develop an instrument on preventive classroom management. The participants were senior Elementary School Science Teacher Candidates.
