Session Information
29 SES 13, Busoni and Boccioni: Artists, Radicals and Teachers of Modernism (Part 1)
Symposium to be continued in 29 SES 14
Contribution
This presentation will explore how Boccioni and Busoni, in their separate contexts of music and art, bring together a new and radical view of the world through their engagement with a nascent modernity which would then flourish in the music and art of modernism. From this radical change, this presentation will explore how this had a direct impact on the way we teach art and music in academies and conservatoires, how this narrative changed our attitude to the arts, and how this opened new avenues which we are still exploring to date.
