Contribution

Around 2.5 million research papers are published every year, so understanding how you can make your work stand out is vital. Aside from making your work as visible as possible to the academic community, you increasingly need to consider how your work has relevance and impact beyond the academic arena – and how you can make that happen!

In this presentation I will discuss maximising the visibility and impact of your work by incorporating outreach activities into the research process from the very start, as well as promoting your final published work to a variety of audiences. We will discuss social media for research, making use of conferences, the metrics, tools and resources at your disposal, writing for a non-academic audience, optimising your paper for discoverability and more!
