Session Information
10 SES 06 A, Deans of Education Panel Discussion 2025
Panel Discussion
Contribution
This discussion panel builds on the very successful Deans' roundtable session held at ECER 2024 and will replicate the same format. Deans of Education from a range of educational contexts will be invited to share the current developments and challenges from their educational system as well as exploring global issues impacting teacher education and responses to it. Representatives from the Global Network of Deans of Education (GNDE) and the U21 Deans of Education Group (U21) will be attending ECER 2025 and will be participating in this session. The session therefore represents a unique opportunity to hear from key decision makers and influencers for teacher education globally. Experiences from similar sessions at ECER and other conferences suggests that this is a popular session and while a named panel has been identified it is anticipated that others Deans will attend and contribute to the session. As recruitment to leadership roles in Faculties and Schools of Education is both a priority and a challenge, responses to the UNESCO Global Monitoring Report on Leadership will serve as a starting point for the Deans' Debate.
