Contemporary art is increasingly transdisciplinary, rising above the traditional discipline divide of art academia and basic education. Contemporary art education needs to find ways to represent this increasing borderlessness of arts field. This workshop asks how, within the framework of our separate art subject, us art educators can incorporate these transdisciplinary arts in our processes with students. 

Using performance art and drama pedagogy as landing platforms, the workshop invites attendees to experiment with collegial play as a creative research attitude. Concepts like serious playfulness (Heikkinen 2007), different modes of knowing (Law & Ruppert 2016) and entanglement, kin-making and chthulucene (Haraway 2016) are presented through invitations to exercises or play settings. These offer possibilities for omnimodal, bodily experiences that create understanding and experiences to take further in each attendee's personal work.
During and in the end of the workshop the attendees are invited to verbalize, visualize or in other ways reflect the possibilities found during the play sessions. These shared ideas will be used in future versions of the workshop, eventually leading to a pedagogical tool I will propose in my doctoral thesis. 

The workshop uses drama pedagogy as the main set of tools. Performative inquiry is used as main research methodology in the workshop.

The workshop expects to reveal or clarify ways for art educators to work across and outside their home disciplines.
