Proposal Information
The topic of research is to analyze urban ecosystems which are habitats for the various ethnic groups and cultures found in urban areas and the unique areas in which they evolve themselves with other social groups.
The social, existential and architectural environment for these ethnic groups greatly influences their culture and life in general and it must be continuously improved in the following aspects:
- Habitability and adequate space for the development of a decent life.
- Provision of medical facilities with adequate sanitary conditions.
- Sociability, improvement of regular contact with local community groups to participate and to feel satisfied in the community.
- Employability, which is provided with the means to perform the relevant personal, social, employment and quality of life.
- Accessibility, improvement and expansion of adequate space for people and their livelihoods.
- Valorization, estimated as their home and most desirable form of human development.
- (Availability set for a rational, successful and advocate) ? for quality of life.
Objectives
- Discover the impact of urban settings and contexts on the quality of intercultural education.
- Identify the relevant characteristics of the contexts and urban settings to meet the needs of intercultural education.
- Revealing the views of teachers, students and families for the educational environment models to achieve intercultural education.
- Complement the vision of the impact of the environment (home, neighborhood, city in the intercultural education among participants in several countries).
- Provide new ideas for design and improvement of community settings and to achieve a higher quality of education.
Theoretical framework
The settings of regions and cities are ecosystems necessary and relevant to the improvement of educational processes (Medina and Domínguez, 2008), Dominguez et al. (1996), Cardona (2004).
Improving intercultural education to adapt and transform ecosystems to the needs of citizens of various cultures and collaborate it in the construction of such scenarios, adapted to the characteristics of safety, existential breadth, adaptability, employability, hospitality, sustainability, etc., which help create the better suited environments and frameworks to the needs of groups, cultures and ethnicities, whose children are involved in schools, which they are a part of and prepare to continuously improve society, themselves and the various organizations-enterprises.
Urban Education, "Historically, cities have raised the hopes as well as the doubts concerning educational matters. On the other hand, cities have been appreciated as places of modern and urban life styles”.
Urban education has an impact on improving the styles and concerns of the people of the city. So our contribution is to identify the visions of the urban scene with people of other cultures, which participate in it, and to provide a vision characteristic of the framework in which these cultures live, which neighbours they have and how they educate their children. Education should provide the basis for learning to understand the complexity of the urban life, participate in it and develop the vital project, professional and global transformation of cities, people and diverse communities.
