02 SES 13 A, An Educational Change and Social Innovation: The Role of Regional Networks
Symposium
Contribution
In contemporary societies the actors are constantly challenged to change their performing practices in order to cope with the changing environment. The article focuses on exploring how the emerging and expanding sectors of creative economy influence the interaction patterns of the teachers’ community. In this article we focus on the changes related to normative level, e.g. changes in (everyday) activity patterns of the teachers’ community in the cultural-creative sector. It has been broadly argued that the emergence of the concept of creative economy has redefining the relationships within the cultural-creative sector and forces inter-disciplinary networking across different fields. This article is inspired by Luhmann’s systems theory and Kuusisto’s three layered systems theory, which enables to highlight the importance of networking and the autopoiesis processes of networking. This article is based on the results of the quantitative survey carried through among the teachers in VET and applied higher educational schools in Estonia. We will identify the patterns of teachers’ networking, including how the network is structured, who are the actors and which type of linkages prevail, how information flows, who are the leaders, etc. and to what extent these patterns support the renewal of teachers’ community.
