Contribution
In recent years, most teachers become busy because they come to play several roles in a school. In such a situation, in order for a teacher to develop his ability, the partnership with a university is needed increasingly (Frank et al, 2011).
In response to the above problem, support for an elementary school is continuously offered in the form of a college student volunteer at this laboratory from the position which supports a teacher's improvement in ability beginning in the 2010. The following two points are mentioned as concrete contents of activity. The first is assisting various educational activities which are a teacher's work by a college student volunteer going into the school spot, in order to improve the manpower shortage which is one of the problems which the school spot has. The second is offering the place which a teacher studies by performing an open seminar after school at a school, or carrying out teacher's lesson analysis.
However, since it was activity in the first year, various subjects became clear in the 2010. Based on the above, in order to make a volunteer activity better to the school spot in the 2011, it noted raising a student volunteer's practice power also in these problems.
This research is defined as a student's practice power as a thinking process until it results in action flexibly corresponding to the present condition.
This thinking process remembers and grasps the fact, and in order to improve activity, it is based on the reflection level (Lee,2005) of carrying out reflection.
This year performed the following improvement models to three problems mentioned from the activity in the last year. To the purpose are the first problem that the student (university) is coming to the volunteer not having got across to a teacher, the guidance for telling a teacher and a student firmly the purpose of going into a volunteer was prepared when this activity start.
The volunteer's activity form was set up to the second problem that a volunteer form is indefinite. To the shortage of communication of a student volunteer and a teacher which are the third problem, the morning arrangement and the evaluation meeting of an after school are prepared as the opportunity of communication with a teacher. Furthermore, it introduced considering it as an opportunity to carry out reflection of a volunteer's activity, and writing an activity diary for a student's improvement in practice power, or holding an evaluation meeting by about one time of the whole per month.
This activity model is based on the framework of action research. The purpose of this research is the following two points. The first is clarifying the aspect of growth of a student's own practice power through experiencing the volunteer activity in this model. The second is continuing to examine the volunteer activity model which can be carried out continuously from evaluation of the activity in the 2011.
