Contribution
This paper fits into the framework of a narrative research project about “experience-led knowledge” in the initial stages of teacher education for primary school teachers (EDU2011-29732-C02-01. Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. Spain). The objective of this research is to explore the meaning of the practices and the educational relationship of the primary school teachers who we base our practices on in teacher education at the university. It also fits into the framework of a research project on the Politics of the Symbolic in university knowledge that allows us to grasp the free sense of female experience (HAR2011-28773-C02-01. MEC, Spain).
The objective of this contribution is to show the fruits of the practice of relationship that come out of narrative research: relevant creative inventions that have come into being out of our own experience. We also want to show how the free sense of female experience has opened us up to new ways of being and acting in research in two ways: a) in relation to the “place” of the female researcher and b) in relation to the creation of the language of experience-led knowledge.
It is a process of inquiry that is inspired by experience-led research (Buttareli & Giardini, 2008; Diotima, 1996; Van Manen, 1991, 2003; Zamboni, 2001; Zambrano 2000) and a special way of working developed in Italy and Spain of what is called and known as the politics of the symbolic or the thinking of sexual difference (Diotima 1987, Rivera 2005).
Experience is always embodied, sexuate and gestated in relationship and is therefore at the same time an experience of alterity (Contreras & Pérez de Lara 2010; Skliar & Larrosa 2009). From this point of view, experience-led knowledge is a thinking relationship with that which is lived, with what happens to us in relationship, with the language capable of putting a name to the thinking that is reclaimed by experience (Buttareli & Gerdini, 2008; Contreras and Pérez de Lara 2010; Diótima 1999; Muraro 2007; Zambrano 2000;).
