Contribution

This paper studies the contribution that the issues in the classroom and the satisfaction of the educational community can have on the quality of the school. We used the model of process analysis K Sigma, detecting areas where improvements can be made, planning and introducing approaches to improve existing processes. The research work focused on the choice of tools that allowed the study of two related factors, indiscipline in the classroom and the satisfaction of the educational community.

It was intended, namely to check whether the educational community (teachers, staff, students and parents or guardians) are satisfied with the school organization; to study the discipline in the classroom, and to make the comparison in two consecutive academic years, of the two identified factors ("Satisfaction of the educational community" and "Issues in the Classroom").

Method

The contrasting hypotheses have been developed to study the effect of two factors identified in the school, either in an airtight or interactive way, checking if the data were in favour of building a model that would relate the questionnaire items (first and second year), verifying the viability of investing in the K Sigma technology, and finally projecting the findings to other studies that can help educational centres in the constant search for quality by effectiveness, efficiency and efficacy. The degree of innovation planned for this study, was adapting the Servqual instrument to the reality of an elementary school, the construction of a grid containing the factors of indiscipline and which allows the registration (by the teacher) of the moment in which the student has a disciplinary issue and the verification of the effects and relationships among the variables "Satisfaction" (parents, teachers and students), "Teachers expectations" and "Disciplinary issues."

Expected Outcomes

Among other findings, the work concluded on the usefulness and validation of the instruments used in this paper, in relation to indiscipline in the classroom, the satisfaction of the educational community and the usefulness of the K Sigma technology which enables to act gradually in the verification and improvement of processes and to use the most appropriate statistical methodology in a given problem. Further measures are proposed based on the results of the study and refer to the possible paths to follow.
