Network Objectives

The research network focusses on the problems of young peolple in large urban areas and the strategies at the national and local policy level as well as the school level that aim to improve urban education and on examples of good practice and innovative educational and youth policy.

The research network provides a forum for discussion and debate of current issues affecting urban education and youth policy. The network welcomes papers which contribute to a European perspective on improving urban schools, on successful education, health and human services partnerships, and on comprehensive educational and youth policy planning. Proposals for paper sessions, symposia and posters are encouraged. These may be empirical, methodological or conceptual. We particularly invite papers that describe and review theoretical frameworks and the knowledge base concerning the thematic research field of the network.
