Tuesday Morning Workshops

ECER 2023 will host a number of EERA Workshops which will take place at various times Tuesday morning between 8:30 and 12:30. The exact times can be found below. Please note that as the workshop sizes are limited, participants will be required to register for the workshops in advance. You will find the links to do so in the description of each workshop.

The reservations will be given out on a first come first served basis. Only ECER participants are eligible, and as the events are in parallel, double bookings will not be possible. We reserve the right to cancel invalid registrations.

Should you have booked a workshop but are unable to attend, please be sure to cancel your reservation, as there might be waiting lists.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn about the concepts and results of PIRLS 2021 as one of the biggest international large-scale assessments of reading literacy in primary education. Participants will learn about the conceptual underpinning and design of the study as well as about the results and findings. During the practice part of the workshop, participants will be able to develop a good understanding about how to address PIRLS 2021 data with appropriate research questions. This workshop is designed for researchers and practitioners willing to learn about computer assisted qualitative and mixed-methods research. This hands-on session will comprise the presentation of the main options available for coding and extracting meaning from data. Workshop participants will grant the possibility of testing different options, ranging from the more traditional approaches to automation using AI tools.
