Diversity and doctoral education – dream or reality?
Rosemary Deem is Emerita Professor of HE Management and Doctoral School Senior Research Fellow, Royal Holloway (University of London), Dean of History/Social Science (2009-11): Vice-Principal: Education 2011-17; Teaching Innovation & Equality and Diversity 2017-19; Doctoral School Dean (2014-19).

The ERC Keynote will take place Tuesday 13:30 - 14:30.

The Value of Diversity in Education and Educational Research
This Emerging Researchers' Conference (ERC) interactive session will encourage participants to reflect on their diversity, positionality, and on their role as learners, educators and/ or researchers.

The ERC Interactive Session will take place Monday, 9:30 - 10:30

On Monday afternoon, EERA networks organise workshops introducing questions within their research fields. The workshop on Tuesday afternoon will address issues typically relevant to Emerging Researchers.

There will be two ERC Informal Lunch Break Events: "Getting to Know EERA and Making the Most of the Emerging Researchers' Conference and ECER" and the “Lunch Break with Local Academics”.

The ERC Social Event - Civic Reception Courtesy of The Rt Hon The Lord Provost Councillor Jacqueline McLaren - will take place Monday, 21 August 19:00 – 20:30 in the City Chambers, George Square Glasgow. As there is a maximum capacity, it is necessary to register. Registration deadline: 15 August

At the start of the conference week, ERC participants can discover a shepherd’s hut parked on the south front of the main campus (next to the flagpole), only a short walk from the ERC’s main locations. You will be welcomed by a sensory safe space holding open a suspended temporality of relational stillness. Together with other (early career) researchers, you are invited to imagine more neurodiversity-informed networking formats for large-scale academic events.
