There is no direct flight from Vienna to Brno because the distance is too short. Václav Havel Airport Prague

By Train

Brno is an important rail junction situated on the Balkan – Budapest- Prague – Berlin – Scandinavia rail route. All Eurocity trains stop in Brno. The distance from Prague to Brno is 256 kilometres, from Vienna 155 kilometres, from Bratislava 132 kilometres, from Berlin 566 kilometres. The main/central train station in Brno is called Brno hlavní nádraží (hl.n.) and is located in the centre of Brno, a few minutes walk from the historic centre. By Car

Brno is located on the main Czech highways D1 and D2. For highways and some bigger roads it is necessary to have a highway sticker, which is for sale at the border crossing, petrol stations, post offices and in the motor clubs.

The easiest way to get from the Main Station (Hlavní nádraží) to Masaryk University is by tram 12, get off at the stop "Grohova". You can take also the tram 4 to "Obilni trh".  Both tram rides take about 10 minutes. The walk from both stops to the university is about 5 minutes. You can also walk from the Main Station to Masaryk University in about 20 minutes.
