ECER Conference Bursaries

EERA and the Emerging Researchers’ Group (ERG) will grant a number of bursaries for ERC and ECER 2022 for postgraduate students and emerging researchers in order to allow them to participate in this year’s Emerging Researchers’ Conference (ERC) and European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) in Yerevan, in-person.

The Three Types of Bursary Funds

  1. Bursaries for students and recent graduates who are nationals of European low GDP countries (including Eastern Europe, Portugal, Greece and Turkey)
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER Yerevan, in-person and a 550 € travel bursary. (If you decide later that you can only attend online, the bursary will only cover the ERC and ECER Plus fee.)
  2. Bursaries for students and recent graduates who are nationals of low GDP countries outside Europe (including those from low GDP countries studying in high GDP countries)
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER Yerevan, in-person and a 550 € travel bursary. (If you decide later that you can only attend online, the bursary will only cover the ERC and ECER Plus fee.)
You can find a list of low GDP countries here.
  3. Partial bursaries for students and recent graduates from the hosting country of ECER.
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER 2022 Conferences only.

Terms and Conditions

  • Only authors of proposals that were submitted to and are accepted for presentation at the Emerging Researchers' Conference will be awarded the bursary.
  • Only one bursary (including the one free ERC/ECER entry) will be awarded per proposal. Therefore, if co-authors apply and both are awarded a bursary, they would have to decide amongst themselves how they would share the single award.
  • Former bursary winners will not be considered.
  • Bursary applicants need to be prepared to attend both ERC and ECER.
  • If awarded an EERA Bursary, you will submit relevant documentation as requested by the EERA Office before 12pm on the last day of ECER Yerevan (in-person).
  • If a winner is not able to attend ERC and ECER Yerevan (in-person), the free entry can be used for ECER Plus of the same year (the travel bursary will not be paid in that case).
  • If a winner is not able to attend ERC and ECER Yerevan (whether in-person or online), the bursary can NOT be deferred to ERC/ECER 2023.
  • Payment of the travel bursary will only be done after the conference (usually 4 weeks following ERC/ECER) after receipt of the documentation confirming attendance.

Also, please note further information about how to apply, award criteria and the documentation required for the online application process can be found here.
